My father has passed away today at 6:45 am in Niagara Falls hospital. He was treated very well and I thank all the nurses and doctors. My dad has touched so many people with his life, If you have met him once you probably will never forget him. He would have a million stories and still go on. From escaping Romania and communism and the hardships to funny stories like how urine fixes everything and is a cure all. 5 years ago he started Antigravity skate shop so I can have a bright future and together we have built it up to where it is together. I hope every skater that has graced us appreciates what he has done for all of us. Anthony was the most inspiring person I’ve ever met “Inspirement is the Requirement” Well it’s been met. Just last year he had a liver transplant due to doctors finding cancer in his liver, He struggled through the medicine and appeared to be doing well. In January this year he felt ill again and went back to london for 9 weeks during this time he had Gondis, 3 hernias, Pancreatitis. Pneumonia, his kidneys shut down and Scoliosis on his liver yet he still walked out of the hospital and came back home. He is a soldier for putting up with all the suffering unfortunatley his time has come. His memory will forever live on through stories, laughs good times, AGk boards, and through Antigravity. Happy Birthday to my father, These are officially the last photo’s ever taken of him. They were from our trip to cuba in early spring, I have held on to these for a very long time, and I figure this is the best time to put them up, Il explain our trip in a nut shell, I needed my teeth fixed and we shopped around it was gonna be like $18,000 to get em fixed, so Anthony is like lets go to Cuba! so we get on a plane and go we touch down and were just about to go through customs and Anthony forget’s his passport on the plane, so he finally finds it 30 min later and we go thru customs to meet this crazy driver who helps us pick up our luggage and go, This driver is crazy now Anthony asks how come there are no animals around the driver laughs and says” Animals? animals this is a poor country we eat all the animals” Anthony dies laughing and says “I like You!”Instant friends and as we leave we gave him a dollar hahha, So we get into our room and first thing we find is a lizard crawling in our bed, Anthony’s like mon dont touch it, so im like enh whatever try and grab it and it jumps on me so were like fuck this its 3am we want sleep change rooms and get rest, We wake up to find that my luggage isnt the right luggage, Since we were 30 min late the pilot ended up taking my luggage and I had his so we had to pay for his cab ride to get it. So the point of the trip was to get my teeth done, We end up going to the dentist for cuban people, It was so bad in there we waited 4 hours in swealtering heat, this one kid beside us was sick and puked on the floor and no one cleaned it up the whole time we were there, The dentist calls us up and immediatley says no,no.no anthony who hustles hard, Cons him in to work on me, So i sit in the chair and you know when there’s a cushion for your head when you rest back, well it was just straight metal, so he works on me and we tell em were gonna be back, so we leave and we come back 2 days later and the puke is still there. One week after we find out that the dentist for touristas is right beside it! we go in to a perfect air conditioned area with the cleanest equipment and friendly people and staff, they gladly took me in and started to work on me, I had an abscessed tooth and the first day they gave me 7 needles in the same tooth and they still couldn’t work on it, so I had to take antibiotics and come back the next day they ended up giving me 6 more and I just mustered through the pain, Anthony said there was so much blood he never seen such a thing, He raised his eyebrows and said he was proud of me, haha if you knew mine and his relationship thats kinda a big deal, So near the end of the trip we realized down the road we could get intenet and a nice pizza shop, so about a 20 min walk we start walking and this black prostitute comes up and starts asking us take me back to eat with you, please Anthony’s like No. no cant do that, please she says and pulls out money as if she was begging so Anthony proceeds to take this woman’s money and she gets mad, Anthony gives her back the money and says get out of here, Anthony is officially the first person to actually take money from a prostitue, AGK
This is the car we drove around in Cuba with, The drivers name was Osiris Delgado and was super nice, The size of this car is insane 2 midgets would be cramped in there let alone 3 guys. Anthony always looked back at me so scared cause he thought the car would break down.
These pups slept under our small cabin, They were so cute every morning we woke up and fed them, They are probably strays now since every corner you look there are stray dogs.

I’m so sorry for your family’s loss Trevor. Your dad was a really special person. I didn’t know him too well, just from when he would walk into Ez Go and tell me crazy stories, or give me advice about everything in my life. He shared his medical stories with me, and at some times I couldn’t even believe he was standing in front of me, but he was because he was so strong. I wish your family the best, my deepest sympathy to such a beautifully kind family.
Although I know at such a time there’s little we can say, I’m so very sorry to hear of yours and your moms loss. I want you to know that my thoughts are with you both.

He was a very close friend for the whole family. He has known us for only 17 years but a lot was shared. He grew a great bond with my mother and father sharing many late nights of laughs. From what I can remember at the age of four. I became very close to him in the past years calling him to hang out while I make him tea or cofee. We would discuss many topics together such as politics and philosophy. Many arguments but it would always end up in laughs.

We all know what a great man Anthony was. I have never met anyone with more love, energy, and spirit. He never put any one or anything thing down. No matter what the situation was Anthony always made it through and always seen the positive sides, never the negative. Unfortunately, this was a battle he didn’t win, but he fought his damn hardest to make it through and for someone to give him a beer! The stories, memories, and love will never be forgotten. The one line i ALWAYS herd from Anthony whenever i seen him was “Are you old enough yet, or am i young enough?”

I remember Anthony being a good man. Always inviting and had a great sence of humour.
One day i was in the shop and Anthony came in with this tiny bottle liquid. He popped the cap off and swigged it back, leaving this white…thing in the bottom. I asked him what this was and he said, while eating the root of the plant, “ginseng, mon! it keeps your”..(pointed to his crotch, then made a hand gesture, which basically indicated that it keeps your mojo flowin) then let out his signature laugh which triggered everyone in there to bust out laughing..
He was one of a kind and will be missed by many..

I’m sorry to hear about your loss. Anthony will be missed by all. he always had classic stories and even if you couldn’t understand them, he would always apologize for his accent, swear in Ukrainian or gypsy and continue on. he was a very bright man.

I remember Anthony from the first day of kindergarden when i walked up the street to meet trevor bc i thought we’d catch the bus together and my mom was screaming my name wondering where i had gone and Anthony saying well you better go back to your house your mom sounds a little worried. For years and years me and all the girls used to niki niki nine doors your house bc your father would always be the one to answer and it was kinda like a game of hide and seak… bc he would always come to find us. Your father was a great man he’d always refer to me as the neibour girl then followed by my name. He never forgot to ask me how ive been and my family, he cared so much for people and was always interesting in what you had to say. He was generally a nice person and always full of smiles. Even everytime i came into the shop he’d always have a story for me about kids these days… he never did understand why we do the things we do but he loved us all for it anyways… I agree with trevor and i think everyone else does when he says Anthony was the most inspiring person bc he really was. May you R.I.P Anthony.

I want to say I did have the opportunity to meet your Dad many times before I met you. I would stop by the shop at odd times looking to have a session with the local guys at my pad in the winter. He would always be there and say no Trevor is sleeping, he worked late. But what can I help you with? He had a lot of heart and love for skateboarding and the local scene from what little I spoke to him. He introduced me to you before I even knew you. He will live on and has blessed our city and those whose paths he crossed. Lets continue to make him proud until we meet again one day. -pvk

When he was here in Romania for a visit, I remember your father(we always called him Puiu) teling funny stories,from his youth, about him and my father(Petrica), going out to meet girls. Puiu always laught remembering this stories. He was always smiling and teeling jokes, even when he spoke to us on the phone.In fact, this is how I’m going to remember him : happy and cheerful.

I feel blessed and humbeled that he even made it past the first transplant and I thank god for giving me that space and time with him that extra longer. his suffering is now over and he is at peace. Snowboard Whaat!
Anthony was a great person. Ive only met him a few times, but Trevor is right, once you’ve met him, you never forget him.
I remember once back even before Anti Gravity opened up, he showed up at Thorold South skatepark with Trevor and was totally down and supportive of his son and skateboarding in general. He was always smiling and always friendly to everyone who walked into the shop or wherever he was.
He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and everyone in the skateboarding community.

I am really sorry for you loss. I coulnt make it to the viewing either. Your dad did alot for the skateboard community in niagara falls and that is exactly how i remember him… coming to watch you and everyone skate and always helping out when i needed board parts… i hope you are doing ok. Hey Trev, those pics of your dad are hilarious and incredibly sad. Ryan and I lost our father this week and although I was deeply sad for your loss already I now know exactly where you are. I really enjoyed talking to your dad and am honored for the nice things he said about our music. I glad to have known him and it was very obvious that you were everything to him. He may be gone but he accomplished raising a great man, keep your chin up and follow his example in life.

I am so sad to hear about Anthony’s passing. I work in a Lab, and took his blood on numerous occasions. He was always so kind and pleasant, and last year brought me a Christmas gift….some wine, which we toasted in his honour.
